About Conference

International Conference on Recent Advancements in Information Technology, Sciences and Engineering (ICRAITSE-17) is a worldwide platform to promote scientific and educational activities towards the advancements of common man’s life by improving the theory and practice of various disciplines and sectors of engineering sciences. The attendance of more than 300 delegates is expected. ICRAITSE-17 is going to be held on 14th -15th December at A.P.C Mahalaxmi College for women, Tuticorin, Tamilnadu in collaboration with IFERP.

Shri. B.K. Venkataramu, graduated from University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE), Bangalore in Mechanical Engineering in 1976 and later obtained his MS from IIT Madras. Starting his carrier in ISRO, Bangalore in 1977, Shri. Venkataramu has specialized in the field of Propulsion Systems for Spaccraft. He is responsible for total indigenization of propulsion systems for a range of Satellites, for interplanetary mission (Chandrayaan-1 and Mars orbiter mission), Space capsule recovery experiments etc. He is also responsible for a wide range of advanced sensors for launch vehicle systems. He also played a major role in the success of the Chandrayan -1 & Mars orbiter missions. During his career, he held various positions as, Deputy Project Director for the remote sensing satellite IRS IC/ID, communication satellites INSAT 3A/GSAT 2, Spacecraft Recovery Experiment-SRE, Group Director & Deputy Director . He laid down his office in June 2015 as an Outstanding Scientist & Associate Director of Liquid propulsion systems centre – Bangalore. Presently he is Dr. Satish Dhawan Scientist at Liquid propulsion systems centre – ISRO,Bangalore. His activities include propulsion systems for the Chandrayaan-2 (Moon Lander) and Electric propulsion systems for Space craft. He is a life member of ‘The Institution of Engieers (India)’ ‘ Indian Society of Systems for Science & Engineering and ‘Astronautical Society of India’. Shri. Venkataramu has published over 35 technical papers in conferences and journals. Two of them have won best paper awards. He won the ISRO team excellence award for being a part of the Spacecraft Recovery Experiment team in the year 2007. He is also a recipient of ISRO merit award for the year 2009, Astronautical society of india Award for the year 2013, Team Excellence Award for the year 2013 for the Propulsion System for Mars Orbiter Mission & ISRO performance Excellence Award for the year 2014.

Dr. Rajkumar Buyya is a Fellow of IEEE, Professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering and Director of the Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems (CLOUDS) Laboratory at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He is also serving as the founding CEO of Manjrasoft Pty Ltd., a spin-off company of the University, commercialising its innovations in Grid and Cloud Computing. He served as a Future Fellow of the Australian Research Council during 2012-2016. He received B.E and M.E in Computer Science and Engineering from Mysore and Bangalore Universities in 1992 and 1995 respectively; and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science and Software Engineering from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia in 2002. He was awarded Dharma Ratnakara Memorial Trust Gold Medal in 1992 for his academic excellence at the University of Mysore, India. He received Richard Merwin Award from the IEEE Computer Society (USA) for excellence in academic achievement and professional efforts in 1999. He received Leadership and Service Excellence Awards from the IEEE/ACM International Conference on High Performance Computing in 2000 and 2003. He received "Research Excellence Awards" from the University of Melbourne for productive and quality research in computer science and software engineering in 2005 and 2008. He is one of the highly cited authors in computer science and software engineering worldwide (h-index=108, g-index=230, and 56,100+ citations). Microsoft Academic Search Index ranked Dr. Buyya as #1 author in the world (2005-2016) for both field rating and citations evaluations in the area of Distributed and Parallel Computing. The Journal of Information and Software Technology in its Jan 2007 issue, based on an analysis of ISI citations, ranked Dr. Buyya's work (published in Software: Practice and Experience Journal in 2002) as one among the "Top 20 cited Software Engineering Articles in 1986-2005". He received the Chris Wallace Award for Outstanding Research Contribution 2008 from the Computing Research and Education Association of Australasia, CORE, which is an association of university departments of computer science in Australia and New Zealand. Dr. Buyya received the "2009 IEEE TCSC Medal for Excellence in Scalable Computing" for pioneering the economic paradigm for utility-oriented distributed computing platforms such as Grids and Clouds. He served as the founding Editor-in-Chief (EiC) of IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing (TCC). Recently, Dr. Buyya is recognized as "2016 Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher" by Thomson Reuters.

Dr S.S .Dash, is presently working as a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, SRM Engineering College, SRM University, Chennai, India He has completed his graduation degree in Electrical Engineering in the year of 1994. obtained his Mtech in 1996 from UCE, Burla, Odisa and Ph.D degree from College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University in the year of 2006 He is having more than twenty years of research and teaching experience. In 2013, he has completed his post doctoral research from the University of Wisconsin, Millawuake, USA. He has published more than 220 papers in refereed international Journals and conferences. 22 candidates have completed PhD under him. His research areas are Power Electronics and Drives, Modelling of FACTS Controller, Power Quality, Power System Stability and Smart grid He is also author of two books named as (1) Introduction of FACTS (2) Basic Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He is a Visiting professor at Francois Rabelais University, POLYTECH, Tours, France. He was invited as a Plenary Speaker for the International Conference ICREPQ 2012 on March 30, Spain, He is also a visiting scholar at university of Wisconsin, USA He has visited Biemingham, UK last year for delivering lecture at international conference ICRERA, December 2016.

About Tuticorin

Tuticorin, also known as Thoothukudi, is a port city is next to Tirunelveli city in Indian state of tamilnadu. It is located 590 kilometers south of Chennai, northeast of Trivandrum. Thoothukudi is known as pearl city due to the pearl fishing carried out in the town. It is a commercial seaport which serves the inland cities of southern India and is one of the sea gateways of Tamilnadu. Thoothukudi is also known by the name Muthu Kuzhithurai. It is also called as Sea Gateway of Tamilnadu. Thoothukudi is a part of pearl fishery coast, and is known for pearl fishing and ship building industries.
